Voice of the Poets

Public Group active 3 days, 23 hours ago

An NS members requests for his/her poem to be recorded by the group. Every member who wishes to be part of the recording records his/her voice and sends it to the group. It will be mixed and posted back on the group. Beats and instrumentals might accompany the poems. You just need a PC and a functional mic to be part of this. Let’s see how it goes.

    I am captured and enraptured
    By your facial exposure
    The visual foundation culture
    Now spread offshore
    Amidst well cultivated contour

Does the style and manner in which we read our poems to an audience matter? I remember reading a very bad poem in terrific style and the applause I got would never be forgotten. A while ago, I listened to American poet, Carolyn Forche read a poem, and I was really impressed. She read it like it was an enchantment. Her poems lay on a string that connects the spiritual world to the physical which makes them interestingly dark.

During the first celebrity read, there was this guy who performed a poem about revolution. I remember I really loved that performance mostly because of the way he read it. So I think how a poem is read to an audience really matters. Usually good to add some necessary facial and body gestures where necessary too.

It is indeed very important that we read our poems well, and with style… I agree with you, Jaywriter…

@ jaywriter.Would love to record ST VALENTINE’S MEMORIES.it is posted below.

    Last season

    We were together,

    Hearts entwined,

    Passions burning,

    Coitus made in heaven,

    One a compliment

    Of the other.

    ***

    This season

    I found my side empty,

    Passion burnt out,

    Heart drained

    Like a sucked cherry,

    You riding on the crest

    Of the free wind,

    Me grappling in the trough

    Of lonesome existence.

    ***

    So tell me,

    What is this love?

Is it not strong but short lived

    Like lightening against

    The darkening clouds?

    Sweet but fleeting

    Like orgasmic pleasure?

Voice it and send to me. Pause after each line. Try and maintain the same pace throughout the recording. If you’re close to some NS members, especially any females, invite them to voice too. If not, try and get a female friend to help in the voicing. Want to have a couple of voices so I could try a lotta things and know which works best.

I just tested whether uploading audio is allowed in groups but no show. I guess we can use the posts option.

    • Jaywriter · 1 month, 4 weeks ago

      Okay. Thanks.
