OUR NEVER ENDING STORY

Public Group active 2 hours, 58 minutes ago

As the name applies, we are a group that will create a story that will have no end. One person starts the story, and each member builds on what the previous member has written, so that way, we form our endless thread - a story that never ends.

I couldn’t tell what kept on drawing me to continue this perilous journey, having walked for days without food or a drop of water. My energy was awesome and quite impressive that any person that saw wouldn’t believe i having not eating for day gone by.

That she was becoming warmer and warmer with me. She would actually call for my opinion about things like the menu and what to serve who. I was enjoying the fresh attention, but there were still those moments of uncertainty and fear…

If I thought things were going to be the same i would have been a fool. But I had enough common sense to realize that i couldn’t misbehave or slip-up anymore. I started cooking meals for Aunty Vivian regularly and the only indication i got that I wasn’t doing a bad job was the fact [...]

I went back to Aunty Vivian’ s restaurant early the next morning, I guess one night on the streets of Lagos can make one realise certain things; like how being with Aunty Vivian, despite her slaps and harshness, was far better than life on the streets. I saw how the boys lived, all eight of [...]

She looked so weighed down by the carriage of the enamel, butterfly bowls. This brought laughter to my face and I felt a tinge of courage. I quietly dusted of that part of my collar where an incorrigible stain once resided. Quietly, she placed the set on the mahogany table.

”What’s worng, George?” came her sonorous voice.

I coughed. ”No. Nothing,” I lied. When I dusted my breast pocket, I felt the ring. I swallowed hard.

”George, something is wrong. I know you.” I felt her perfume spin round my head. She was near. God, she was lovely.

”Remember what we saw on the Times together?”

    ”George…”

”That, eh, person covered in shit?”

    ”George…”

”Standing with arms spread out and his legs crossed like Christ?”

    ”George!”

Suddenly, it gripped me. I retched.

”Excuse me, Angela.” I bolted out of the kitchen.

Stars truly fell from the sky on that day. I had not yet recovered from the effect of the slap when I felt a hot slimy substance pour on my leg; I looked up and realized that it was the Okra soup. I did not know whether to cry, run or pack the soup with [...]

I was wary of Aunty Vivian and tried to keep out of her way. The more i tried (and succeeded most of the time)the more Biola spent time with me. She watched as the cook taught me how to cook and she also gave me tips as well. We found we had a lot to [...]
