We penetrated these leaved walls
Of superior learning
With extra burning of the past 12am candle.
Thumbing our way through pages of confusion,
Faces contorted in grimaces
Depicting abject bewilderment.
We abdicated warm mattresses
And stabbed gentle snores
With the pointed tip of ball points
Spilling blue blooded theorems and
We soaked our eyes
In numberless cups of colored water
To ward off dementia; sleep.
We slapped nature in the face
And altered demiurge proposal
“Day for man; Night for animals”
And we sought hays (As)
Amongst the blankets of night.
Became champions over nature
And conquered divine ordain:
“We murdered sleep” and ourselves!
