Abiku My Daughter

Hope-filled smiles and grief
year after year
and we thought love
had brought you to stay.

So we learned to love you
with all our scars and yours
kept in love’s garbage.

You were from us
and we were in you.
We refused to see beyond that.

Would that she knew
that love would be her reaper.
Would that we knew
that some scars cannot be erased

some bonds cannot be severed
and some eyes cannot be appeased
with a small sacrifice of love.

  1. This is nice. It is like ‘pain simplified’… But one can still feel the pain and the lose. Kudos.

  5. Abiku, this your coming and going is enough.
You must decide to stay or leave for good.
