The night sky and war times

The night sky and war times

You will not find what you are looking for here.
Go home.
I lost limbs and substance fighting this war.
Go home.
Love is that war.
Go home.
I held a white flag.
Go home.
The lover is always the loser.
Go home.
Open your doors wide.
Meet a woman who will not leave you feeling like a reparation.
Go home.
You will not find what you are looking for here.
Go home.
You think you can save me?
I am the night sky,
the darkness that swallows an infinite number of stars.
Go home before it is too dark to find your way home.

  1. Nice one. This poem greatly disturbed me. Anne you are indeed electric. Gonna save it to read again…and again

And trust me, I don’t do that often

  2. This one is heartbreaking. Or maybe it is just the bitter-sweet memories it evoked in me.

  3. @hymar thank you so so much for your comments. I’m glad you could connect to my poem, that makes two of us :)

  4. Why do I feel like beneath the order lies a silent plea? Please Stay.
Sometimes, I wanna be all electric too.
Nice one, Aurora. Well done. $ß.

  5. Am gonna stay till morning, there is still hope. Am going nowhere. Really heart touching poem but na for emotional person o

  6. @bugganni…I have missed you, your poems, your everything.

Now this, free write in 2 mins – is not just electric. Borders on magic…(how else could you conjure it in so short while…lol) and @hymar is right it is very evocative.

You have not lost your ability to finish with a flourish; there is a complex love-pain moment with the final plea, love enough to care pain enough to let go.

These lines were vintage bugganni innovation: Open your doors wide/Meet a woman who will not leave you feeling like a reparation.

    Fine write.

P.S.:Your poetry makes me wonder about how your prose will be

    Just real good. Well done
