Sweet -sixteen

Sweet -sixteen

(For my sweet-sixteen sister, whom I love so much.)

My Priye turns sixteen;

My precious gift blooms.

I do not despise the joy that comes

Of sisterhood with her;

She is my gift,

As I am hers.

The years apart mean nothing,

When we share and care and love.

She is me

And I am her,

For I see myself in her

As I mirror her too.

The lessons learnt

Are tools of life,

That light my path

And help me love.

To care for another as myself

I have learned from her,

For to do to her

Is to do to me.

Sweet is she

From inside out,

And strong enough

To love, learn and grow.

With dreams and hopes,

And sometimes fear,

She cares a lot and is herself.

May her path be brighter

And her ways purer.

May she know joy boundless

And love profound.

May her days be many,

And her fruits too.

May each bring fulfillment

And pleasures that endure.

My gift is sweet-sixteen,

And I am very joyed

For her youth says hope lives

And promises brighter days ahead.

As for our bond of sisterhood,

It will beyond time endure.

And with hands entwined,

We’ll change our world.

You will shine brighter,

My sweet sweet gift.

You will conquer

Those things you fear.

She’s sweet-sixteen

As I am inside,

And so we’ll ever be,

Full of youth, love, and life.

    1. Thank you for reading.

  1. Very nice.

    To love, learn and grow.

    With dreams and hopes,

You two are probably Jackie and Joan Collins, loooooool. Keep it up.

    1. @ jaywriter, thank you for the nice words. We’re not those two though. I can’t find the right words yet, but I know that our relationship is and will be better than those two’s.
