I Still See Your Eyes

I Still See Your Eyes

I still see your eyes
Through teddies, through birdies, through butterflies
I still see your eyes
Through thirteen ladies that said to me hi!
And wish me wooed them and then be their guy
I still see your eyes
Through the streamings of many streams so nigh
I still see your eyes
I still see through stars of sky of your eyes
And the seed of love you sowed in me’s why
I still see your eyes
Through our peace and tears, through towns we’ve passed by
I still see your eyes
I still see your eyes every night I lie
And your seed of love growing in me’s why
I still see your eyes.

  1. Sweet , nostalgic poem. I think it could be made to read in a more fluid manner.
For instance in between lines 8&9 the cadence /rythm of the poem was broken. It would be nice to choose a rhythm and stick to it. That ll make the poem more memorable and more fun to read.
Also the gender of the Mc is obscured, do men also have seed grow in them?
This is a very lovely poem but to thrill and wow an audience it requires polishing. Well done and best wishes. :-)

  2. Some deep nostalgia here.
What would that thing called love not inspire :-)

    Nice!

  3. Well written. I like the rhyming.

  4. Nice poem. I do not really like , ” the streaming of many streams.”

  5. Simple, nice and short. You also left your readers with a line to take home with; “still see through your eyes”. Nice rhymes @samueldpoetry. Well done.
