How much does everything cost?

Money buys us all, male and female and although some may claim not to want it, ask
them if they act all grumpy when someone asks for their bank account details.
Some others say the root of all evil is money
Well I think this famous saying is funny, contradicting and somewhat cunning because the last time I checked, I wasn’t so clear as to whether it was the heavenly or the monetary race that we all are here running. Even the preacher would not teach and walk away without requesting your offering, and the musical playing in the radio consciously embeds in its lyrics it’s not making sense if you aren’t making money.
You see corruption is a giant that society has managed not to defeat simply because we have a lot of people who do more to acquire money than acknowledge their wrongdoings and say that they’re sorry. Or maybe everything revolves around money because at my grandma’s funeral I heard a Reverend say he’s cutting his prayers for my family short simply because we had no money to donate to work of the church. It sounded funny at first, but when I recall watching him speak without remorse, I get so pissed like whoever gave him the guts…
Money buys everything, and although they say it can’t buy love but I thought daddy said he paid a bride price before he could have his wife. And if I asked you the constituents of a good life, you’ll probably say “having money” before you say “being Christ-like.”
The banker who studied psychology is okay with giving up his dream of becoming a footballer simply because his pay grade is A. But in reality when compared to what he should be earning, you come to see that he’s operating on a loss, satisfied with being stuck-up because he could not be patient enough. Now how much does everything cost?
You see being broke is insulting and you may not relate until you get dumped by a girl simply because she met another guy who drives a v8 or when you have to lie when asked about your phone which you recently sold and wanted no one to know because they wouldn’t understand how you were rock bottom broke.
I hear people clamor for change, but only when it goes into their pockets and this is fact and if you have doubts then you probably did not encounter an APC vs PDP ballot bout. Now how much does everything cost? The life of your fellow man for a brand new rolls
royce. And what does it profit a man to acquire the whole world when his soul stays lost?

Cool…why isn’t this in editors picks? Stories or articles that are not half this usually make editor’s picks. Who da hell is the editor anyway

@mistaantoine …I think the “famous saying” is justified or say comes alive in your article and not otherwise. Except for the purpose of Irony.

    Well done.

“Some say money is the root of all evil . . . ” From what I know, that quote has some important words missing. It ought to be, ‘(the love of) money is the root of all evil’ 1 Timothy 6:10.

Money is essential to survival, and there’s nothing evil about that. But the love of money–which breeds corruption, advance fee fraud (419), ritual killings etc–is a different thing, and evil.
