Unequal

Unequal

There will be looks –[1]

Adoring, Lusty

Unsagged by time nor chance

There will be kisses –

Sweet and heady

Like well-aged wine

Hands too will be held –

Fondly, Fiery

The elemental touch of souls

Daring caresses will be stolen –

Cradling, Clinching

Worthier than the world

Yet will none of these –

Shared with fleeting lovers

Equal the mere smack of lips

Glancing of sights

Of hands

Of bodies

Between friends you fully love!!

[1] This is a love poem but platonic and between friends. It essentially says when found, a true friend’s love is greater than that of a romantic love which is often fleeting

Being in love with a friend you fully love can never equal being in love with a mere lover one calls a boyfriend or girlfriend. There’s more of that something that ties friendship together that just lovers do not posses. I wish everyone could be best friends with the person they claim to love sincerely. I had a guy say once, “I’m not your friend, I am your boyfriend!” hmmm…

Keep inspiring my life with your poems.
