A woman the world might never know
The woman we adore secretly
Big office she occupy not
The media broadcast her not
Yet we see what she does and pray that she live long.

Though she has no university certificate to flaunt
But her enterprising nature conceal her lapses
Committed to her husband seeing that he progresses
The kids are considered lucky at the home front
Crowned with godly manners.

Busy at day time to help meet the needs of the family
Home at evening to care again with delicious meals
At night time she is still saucy for her soul mate.

There are times she is downcast
Feeling disappointed by her children
Angered by her husband
Betrayed by her friends, heartbroken by relatives
Yet she strives on and long for peace & forgiveness
Not that she is perfect either.

At the religious arena, she is not found wanting
Faithful at heart, disciplined in character
A leader, a role model for all
Mummy, Mummy, She is to everyone
Men, women, youth & children
Her neighbours’ consider her a blessing.

She might never get to wear the most expensive clothes
Shoes, and make up.
It bothers her not, for contentment is written all over her
The inner beauty that makes the outer one adorable
Love and selflessness is her watchword
A wonder woman she is.

beautiful poem. A reminder of who we are meant to be. it sad that western ideology, economic hardship and the unfaithfulness of men has made us hard, forgetting who we are. thank you.
