LAMENTATION OF SORROW (Dedicated to Nelson Mandela)

LAMENTATION OF SORROW (Dedicated to Nelson Mandela)

LAMENTATION OF SORROW

Fate has done me evil
Alas! Freedom has fallen
The robbers are back home
All unified in rope of brotherhood
Nature had lost her pride

Breeze had left the Earth
The World bees had sucked me
I should go beyond and wait for time
Death had left scar on my face
This hell men called Earth has burn me

The sun has beaten me
The freedom of Africa is riped
The pride of Africa is due to be reaped
This hungry ground is greedy
And forever he shall remain poor

Mandela the Boabab has fallen
If you see Balewa, tell him;
Africa has no peace again
Tell Ahmodu Bello, Arewa is on fire
If they care, give them all the truth

Mandela the Boabab has fallen
If you see Awo, give him the truth
Tell him Education has gone back again
Tell Abiola our votes still not count
If they care, give them all the truth

Mandela the Boabab has fallen
If you see Zik of Africa, tell him;
The Biafra has gone mad again
Tell Ojukwu his crocodiles are hungry
If they care, give them all the truth

Let those who have ear listen
Freedom has left; Mandela himself
I shall not lack mentor in heaven
I shall rest under the tree
I mean where Mandela sits.
