God sang and danced as He created everything
He sang and danced and whooped and wailed
A song of densest enunciation,
He sang and danced and clapped his chapped hands
And the lights came on
He sang and whistled and wreathed the winds with His fingers
For life to begin.
The earth formed from a thickening of his song, mixed with air,
mixed with a passion only Him could summon.
He sang and stamped his feet on the mudden earth
And the dust that rose,
Gelled with the rhyme-packed spittle flying from his singing lips
To form man.
God sang and sang, and goes on singing
He dances about, His flighty feet whizzing on the ether;
When the song hits the high notes, new universes form
And He sees it and claps with kidlike attention
And the lights come on – stars flash on.
God has been singing and dancing since the first ever second,
He’s been gliding through dark matter,
Reaching the high notes and seeding universes at every corner
Universes containing the robustness of his glee, which keeps expanding;
God is singing and dancing and creating and forming
We are His song, we are music – rhythm, pitch, and encore.
Whatever note your soul echoes,
A report of it is heard in the infinite multiverses –
Where an equivalent note of you sounds –
Listen to yourself, Music.
God sings, dances, creates, forms
As he goes on his merry way –
‘Your God will rejoice over you with joy…he will rejoice over you with singing’
