O TI YO! (Drunk)

He stands abruptly from his chair unsteady
I am still okay, he says
He rethinks and declares he is not ready
I am still okay, he says
Do not blame him
O ti yo.

He staggers along the sidewalk uncaring
Not hearing the people or horns blaring
I am still okay, he murmurs
He misses his very first turning
Oblivious of the rising sun, another morning
I am still okay, he murmurs

He decides he wants to sing a song
And rues that he doesn’t have a gong
I am still okay, he sings
It is so difficult to see
He discovers he has lost his house key
I am still okay, he sings

He trips and falls right into a gutter
Immediately his eyes begin to flutter
I am still okay, he thinks
This feels just like my foam
Safely I have gotten home
And I am still okay, he thinks triumphantly

He falls asleep in the filth
And dreams of a big comfy kilt
In which he feels definitely okay
Pay him no heed
O TI YO!
