Dreams After Dawn

Dreams After Dawn

I should be asleep and dreaming,
But another dream keeps me awake,
Pray a dream it won’t remain,
Or will it, my heart forever to break?

A loud voice within calls, “hey, boy, smell the coffee,
It’s not always ‘Que Sera Sera’,
What will be? Oh don’t make me laugh,
You know the odds, ‘Que Sera Sera?”

There’s yet another voice within me,
A still small voice I know it to be

Why choose to remain silent, speak, I plead,
Your words are few I know, few is all I need of thee,
Yea, he’s right, it’s not always Que Sera Sera,
But he’s also wrong, what you say will be

Same loud voice calls again “Who’s more real to you?
Who comes with the quick answers, me?
You’ve even mistaken mine for His still voice sometimes,
You never know, maybe He’s silent when with me He doth agree”

I know you, you’re no good,
For all I’m not proud about, I know to whom the credit will go,
You’re right, I still can’t tell which voice I heard sometime 2011, April,
But you’re wrong, He ne’er agree with you, we both know

Whatever! the voice resigns and fades,
Oh, what peace and bliss

I should be sleeping and dreaming,
Ok, two lines and I’m done,
Just want to say, even in my thoughts, you are Lord,
The One who keeps my dreams alive, even after dawn.

09/08/13……………A personal poem I wrote. Just felt like sharing it here.

      Thanks. I appreciate the comment.

  4. Good stuff. Personal poems are always hard to figure even if they are simply written. That’s because even if someone decodes the piece, he could still miss the poet’s own personal misgivings on writing it
