Before We Know It…

Before We Know It…

Life is very sacred, time is our best gift
The past, the present, the future; thats all we get
We make our memories, we plan for tomorrow
We live the now, we enjoy the moment
But between it all, we educate ourselves
We work our ‘asses off’, we try to fit in
We fall in love, celebrate holidays
Start a family, care for many
Time flies, and we watch it pass by
We age so fast, its unbelievable
Things get slow, we lose ourselves
Our body fails, our minds weakened
Before we know it, the ones we nutured nuture us
And all that’s left are memories and no tomorrow
Suddenly death asks to buy us a drink,
For a while we ignore it
But like drunks we finally give in
We take a sip, and its all over
Life is sacred, time is a curse
The past, the present, the future
From dust we came and dust we return

“Suddenly death asks to buy us a drink,
For a while we ignore it
But like drunks we finally give in
We take a sip, and its all over.”
