The Day Of Reckoning

The Day Of Reckoning

How can an earthly gift become a curse?

To have a land to walk on and ocean to swim in

Yet subjugated with the privilege

Stuffed to the throat and unable to breathe in

The world has lost its colours

How can a free gift become a calamity?

With the quaking of the earth people will walk on sky

Even the ocean has lost its comfort

Running after terrified soul and eating them up

Mother earth has abruptly become inimically friendly.

How can the earthly gift cause crisis?

Causing pains to people amidst their fight to save their lives

Amidst the turbulent tsunami their voices rose in cries

With no where to run to, they fought with all hopes lost      mother earth has become a dwelling of anguish.

How can the ocean dwell in an abode with a soul?

Driving one out of his domicile with a peculiar snarl

Playing with life as if it were a tombola

Choosing who to squeeze life out of on its own time

Earth has lost its ambiance.

Where is the comfort mother earth promises?

Since even the ground provides no shelter

Claiming thousands of helpless souls in the torrent

With the rising wails the ocean continues to be shrewish

Giving no room to a last prayer, it attacks with a prowess prowl.
