Enigmatic Variations

Enigmatic Variations

Trust has caused many hurt,

Distrust, much more pain.

Love breaks, yet mends,

Hate breaks, crushes and ravages beyond reason.

Courage might leave scars,

Cowardice, an incurable wound.

Hope deceives, yet consoles,

Impossibility, untold restrictions!

Life tests, then teaches,

Death, teaches those it hasn’t reached.

Truth unshackles even hopeless captives,

Lies set the free in unbreakable chains.

Today’s our greatest gift,

Tomorrow, the cause of untold bondage.

Children are born adults,

And adults grow into immaturity.

  1. The title aptly describes the work. I am beginning to love your works 4ran6. They are a good welcome for me, after been away for a while.

    1. @sambright, Thanks… I really think poetry has a duty to provoke thoughts… If that’s lost, anybody can do poetry, which is never the case; Philosophy can never be separated from poetry.
