    Anambra Born Young Nigerian Writer, shortlisted for The 2015 Nigerian Writers Award.

    Izunna I. Okafor, an Anambra born Young writer has been shortlisted for The 2015 Nigerian Writers Award. Izunna (born 9th Jan 1994) is an Award wining Young Nigerian Writer who hails from Ebenator in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state. The Nigerian Writers Award was launched to reward excellence and cellebrate Nigerian Writers. The Nomination for the prestigeous Award ran between the chunck space of 4th July to 5th Oct 2015, with over 831,000 people who visited the website to nominate Nigerian writers who are making a difference in their various areas of writing. After the critical rigorous and thorough screening of the wonderful 673 entries recieved, 231 nominees were shortlisted in 24 major categories. These are the writers who have proven their worth and commitment in writing. Among this shortlist of these 231 reputable writers, was Izunna I. Okafor who was shortlisted in 2 categories out of the 24 categories. For his fourth book (AJO ENYI), Izunna was shortlisted as the Indigenous Writer of the Year and The Young Writer of The Year 2015 (20-26 years). Among the shortlist were also other prominent Nigerian Writers, including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, among others. With his creative writing, Izunna is realiy making his people of Anambra State, Igbo Nation and Nigeria in general proud in the literary community. He has also featured and been feature in several other writing contests, literary activities and awards including The 2015 Young Nigerian Writers Award, in which he won The 2015 Pita Nwanna Prize for Igbo Literature, among others. As a talented Writer, Izunna writes in English as well as in Igbo Language. And with his writing career, he has contributed Immensely in rivitalizing and promoting the Igbo Language which is his mother tongue.
