Very interesting story, l love the POV switch. I like the way you use descriptions to change the point of view and I think you’ve done a good job creating a distinct atmosphere for your reader. Like everyone has mentioned, it just shows how the grass *looks* greener on the other side. I like to […]

Thanks. What part about the story confused you? I’m realizing that the transition thing is my writing style but I’ll take your note :) You’re very right that it takes guts but it is well worth it (when people are not blatantly rude). thanks again!

I think you manage to capture the situation and I especially like your portrayal of his ex in the fourth paragraph. You generally write well and I think the ending is fine but I feel like your story would be so much stronger by taking it to another level. I get that he is alone […]

Hi Tola Thanks for your comment. Nigeria is referred to as ‘home’ in the figurative sense. The characters live across three continents and my choice to write about the three was intentional. I could go on about why the plot doesn’t have to be linear but I think this is a case of personal taste. […]

I think you’ve managed to capture your MC’s struggle to prove a point / please her husband. I especially like the way you illustrate her desperation. However, I feel like the story needs a stronger surprise factor and more development at the end. For instance, if she did have a boy, what if he came […]

  • That was a typo, thanks for pointing that out.

  • I think another way to put this is that the message is lost on you — not that it is unclear. The personification of strife in this poem can be compared to the 9/11 attackers. Did some parts of the world celebrate their outrageous act as a victorious? Yes. Were they seen as martyrs to […]

  • I beg to differ, Gboyega. Poetry is a form of expression without boundaries. Asking me to write like someone else is also asking me to become them. I appreciate your feedback but I’m sticking to what I have. You’re entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.
