She stretched out her arms in bid to recieve an embrace from me.

Then she said the words that changed my life forever – ‘you have been looking for me and now you found me’.

I looked from the tattoo to her face and found there was a sweet yet unnatural smile on her face…

It was so beautiful, and masterfully done that it was riveting and as i drew nearer, it seemed to come alive.

I walked up to say hello but before i could voice out the greeting, one of the tattoos caught my attention and rendered me speechless

The moonlight caught a view of her skin and I saw local tattoos beatifully draw by the upper part of her forearms

And then I saw it… a lot more beautiful than I had imagined.

I moved closer to get a better look . . . . . .

One night while keeping vigil out of curiosity on the darkness surrounding the Iroko tree in our compound, I saw a mysterious yet beautiful outline of a maiden silhoutted next to the tree.

But now, it’s something more… something lovely but a little scary.

Then, i used to think it was the shadow of the spirit of the iroko tree we sit under for our night tales
