    With the change of name of this great citadel of learning by the president,one is left in the dark as to the motive behind the action.There are other government institute that could have been used to immortalize Moshood Abiola not a change of nomenclature for God sake.

    Besides, this is not what Nigerians need at this time where security, power generation, transportation et al constitute a stigma to the existence of this country.Is this the best way forward for our education that has in recent years nosedived? Where graduates can’t compete with their counterpart in international circles?Let’s think again.

    @Sambrightomo,

    The only people who should really be exercised about the change of name should be students, staff and alumni of the university, and even they will get used to the change in the fullness of time, as @Kaycee has said.

    For the rest of Nigerians, there are far more pressing issues to be worried about.
