If you get the opportunity to be President of Nigeria for a season, how would you begin to end the corruption in the fabrics of the nation?
Drop your candid opinion…
July 6, 2012 at 4:05 pm #113198First things first, a total cleansing of the land with “anticorruptic” solutions, not minding whose ox is gored…
July 8, 2012 at 11:48 pm #113199Find the Otedolas,Lawans,Iboris,Alams and put them behind kirikiri high walls.
July 9, 2012 at 1:53 pm #113200Which means virtually everyone will be behind Kirikiri.
July 9, 2012 at 4:37 pm #113201Not really everyone, but Kirikiri ain’t really enough, why put the warden and policemen under the pressure of taking bribe, those corrupt kingpins and their pawns alike should be put in a place where they’d be practically impotent…
July 12, 2012 at 2:23 pm #113202I will start from confusion, being confused first and….water please.
God help us save our nation biko.August 4, 2012 at 10:46 am #113203President of Nigeria? I ll ut our budgets, like Akeem said in Coming to America. The less money (oil money) we have, the less problems we ll cause.
August 8, 2012 at 10:27 am #113204@Ostar how can confusion end corruption? Yours must be a stupendous solution, please tell… Without God there definitely no hope for bettering this country.
August 8, 2012 at 10:28 am #113205@Sunshine if you cut budgets and reduce expenses and avenues for theft, you’ll save money and increase our account balance, but what happens when you leave office only for some corrupt nut-head to take over?
August 11, 2012 at 8:16 pm #113206Well, I meant I will start from Confusion Flushes. There are too much confusion from every goodluck to some badluck….
August 14, 2012 at 11:45 am #113207I’d like to be a typical Nigerian leader. SO first of all, my wife and our nation’s FIrst Lady, will take a break together with our in-laws and embark of familiarisation tour of Europe. We will pause in Dubai and check on the Saudi King the next day. Then we will proceed to the Holy Land for some revelation on how to “impact” on the lives of “our people.” By the time I return, if Boko Haram has not finished the entire nation, I will set up a committee to investigate the “remote and immediate causes” of the crises and recommend solutions in 6 months.

August 22, 2012 at 3:06 pm #113209@sontel, haba, how can your strategy save the corruption situation in the Nation, be real you don’t know who is listening…
August 22, 2012 at 3:07 pm #113210@Tola, I hear, I’ll check that, thanks…
August 23, 2012 at 8:50 am #113211His Excellency @excellency, I just intended to mimic typical Nigerian leadership. I have a number of radical ideas to implement as President of Nigeria. To begin with, I would assemble a formidable team of visionaries in my cabinet. I will not appoint a woman Minister because she is the wife of the Chief of Benin. Nor will I appoint a man anything because it is the turn of his father’s village.
Secondly, I will seek out the best qualified people wherever they are and irrespective of what they think of me as a person. I will send very strong signals across the nation from the top that our laws are meant to be implemented fully. OFficials of my government will know that they cannot commit a crime and hide under the umbrella of “family affair”. I will commit myself to a broad national vision of peace and freedom for all people and will not hold any personal ambition above this goal.
Institutions of the state will be strengthened by a strict policy of non-interference with their operations. There are a number of other policies I’d implement, but the core of all of them will derive inspiration from my personal integrity and commitment to high moral and ethical standards. I will not just be the President; I will be a leader and an example in all good behaviour and will demand and enforce same among my officials.
Thank you.
