A lot is being said about this Ojukwu’s will and today I heard someone say ‘a sensible Igbo man will not will his properties to his wife when he has children’.
Isn’t the wife the mother of his children? Why shouldn’t he give his properties to her under the assumption that the wife will use them to take care of the children? Does this mean that the wife really has no business in the affairs of a man’s family after his death?

Well.

The issue here is that he has children Bianca did not give him – and yet he left everything to Bianca. That’s the issue.

It’s none of my business. I need to go build a legacy for my kids too – rather than lament a man who did his part as well as he could.

I guess, but in the end it is still the decision of a man to share his property how he deems it fit. Is it just about Bianca? What if he had given it all to charity would the other children be less pained?

Whatever a man does in the end is his business, abi @Seun-odukoya?
Still, for someone who was more of a traditionalist, it would raise several eyebrows. On the other hand, when one remembers that she was the one who was always there for him especially in those last moments [as we saw o or maybe not :) ], it is understandable.
Seriously, @salliness, do you think it really is something that you should devote your time to discussing much on?

Ojukwu has no will. What you saw or heard, was a mere fabrication.

@sueddie it did catch my attention and I thought to seek other people’s opinion.

Oh well! Point taken, point noted.
His legacy, I guess, is the best will anyone could have left. Little or nothing more. To quote a certain ‘Her Excellency’: Ojukwu is dead but his manhood lives on.’

I heard otherwise. I heard the first name on Ojukwu’s will was his daughter from the north whom know one knew existed. I heard this from a reliable source.

@kaycee yes, the will included a daughter who was not known before now.

An unknown daughter … and the story continues. Now it gets interesting. Hmm. Na wa o! Her Excellency was right! ;)
