WHAT IS FEMINISM REALLY All ABOUT?

These days it seems 80% of women are now self proclaimed feminists which would have been wonderful if only most of them knew what it’s all about…
Sometime last year I wrote on how the society has continuously sidelined women most especially “The African Woman” and on why we should all be feminists…
Women has on numerous occasions been relegated to the background… In fact an African woman seems to be defined by marriage. A successful unmarried woman is considered a slut while a single successful man is a hard worker…That’s hypocrisy at its worst phase and that is what feminism should actually fight against…
Feminism should fight for a society that recognizes and respects women not just for their domestic achievement but for their individual accomplishment…a society in which a woman is not defined as just a “wife, mother, grandmother” but “a pioneer, a pace setter,an icon”…a society that provides a woman with opportunities to aim for the stars,to be the best they can be and not one that pushes them to sacrifice their lifelong dreams at the altar of marriage just because her husband might feel insecure or threatened by her success…
But most importantly,Feminism should aim at discovering the true place of a woman in the society, encouraging self-worth,earning the respect they deserve and highlighting the indisputable importance of women in the society…But instead Feminism seems to be advocating for not just equality but superiority over men which will only lead us back to the reason why feminism came up in the first place except in this case it will be “manism or masculinism” I guess…
In my own opinion, the idea of striving for equality or superiority is misplaced because a woman is irreplaceable and equally important as a man in our society. There are some things a woman can do that a man can’t and some things a man can do that a woman can’t(it’s just God’s way of differentiating both sexes)…
Feminism now seems to be turning our women into men which is ridiculous because nobody is better at being “a man” than a man himself and vice versa…In the strive to uplift women, let’s not forget that a woman in her original state is strong, bold, beautiful, smart and unique…we just need to fight for a society that sees women as such and respect them for who they are…You don’t need to act like a man or play the role of a man to be considered a true FEMINIST…Period!!!
I think it’s high time we reevaluate what Feminism is/should be all about or we might just find ourselves on a ship with no exact destination.
