The Writer’s World

I do not want to be a bee
Always busy producing honey,
I do not want to be a banker
Counting other people’s money

I do not want to be a policeman
Collecting bribes on the road
Or exploiting unsuspecting drivers
The Nigerian police, I detest.

I do not want to be a Politician
Making promises I may not fulfill
I do not want to be a Scavenger,
Feeding on fetid and putrid carcass

Not for me a Doctor,
Whose night-sleep is threatened
By diseases unknown

Let me be a Scribe,
Whose Quill is a Creator,
Making vivid images of
Blissful moments and sorrowful times

In my world, an Ant can swallow a Leopard,
A civilian can bully a soldier,
A lion can have wings and fly
My mind mirrors it all.

Come into my world of letters,
Then you’ll marvel at the wonders
For there, you’ll find solace and
Be able to right all life’s wrongs

Welcome to my world !!!
Where everything goes as you will it,
Where you are a god and a Creator,
Welcome to the Writer’s World !!!
