Searching For My Muse

I set out on a Journey
To an Island far away
Where the Sky kisses the Sea
To the far ends of the earth

I climbed hills and descended,
Walked through Valleys
While I was sandwiched between,
Walked across brooks and streams

Searching, I walked and walked
Through forests and bushy paths
Till my feet became sore,
Aches embraced my whole being

Finally, I arrived at an Island
A tropical Island of ancient aura
Where nature has not been altered
Nor have men exploited it’s bounty

The eerie cricket calls,
The chirping of the birds,
The gibbering of the monkeys
welcomed me warmly

Mysterious black cats
stared at me with glowing eyes
As if they were seeing my soul
Asking me questions unanswered

Serenity and Tranquility
Held hands running to me
Solitude which eluded me
Appeared like a ghost

Then came my Muse
In the middle of the Island
With a look of dissapointment
It spoke to me in echoes

“Why have u brought me here?”
It asked me while I was still in awe
“I came searching for you”
I retorted as I became confused

I was with you all through the journey
Like your Guardian Angel
I never stay away from you
Your journey has been in futility

I have a shadow like you
It is called Solitude
Anywhere you find it,
There will I be with you.

  1. The gem depict a vivid imagery that brings it beauty to the sense. The MUSE of a writer is the writer himself. Excellently penned!

  2. Thanks bro , your comment means so much to me. I’m encouraged
