Dreaming

Dreaming

We all travel this road,
This is our say in the dream we once had/
We will gather whenever the moon is out
and trade the play of father, mother, child,
I will act the role of a promising child
who will go to school and build his family around that of his parents,
Who will build castles of sands and pillars of broken bottles,
It was getting realistic when we started using mud to build many messy
modern mansions,
Taking yam flour from the real kitchen
and garnishing leafs of tears.
My brother’s role was that of a new child
whose birth was that of wealth,
We once had dreams like you
but ours is different,
They told us to dream like that
even if we will never touch any sleek of gold
and we were calm, we acted, we relieved our burdens
