She was quite alone in the world, with parents long dead, except her dog Roger, and the men who worked in her crop farm, the fowls, and a few cows. And she had her religion. One morning, Tracy stood upon her balcony contemplating with arms akimbo at a small group of small children who were unexpectedly heading towards her cottage house. They were the children of her nearest neighbour, Vanessa.
