Death

Death

Death is a cold hard fact.
A slap in the face of the living.
A reminder of your fragile mortality.

It doesn’t just take from you, it leaves you with the feeling of loss, pain and heart-wrenching grief. The hardest part is knowing you won’t see that person again. Whether it is laughter or pain you shared with that person or even both. Maybe just an aquaintance, it’s still hard on the person living. Once death takes that person, it’s forever and the only thing left of them will be memories.

This is not a post to remind you of your loss, your pain or your grief. It’s a shoulder-offering to let you know that no matter who you’ve lost, we the living are here and we’ll continue to hold your hand.
It’s a friend telling you to live the rest of your life in moments- to the fullest, and spare little time for regrets.
Finally, it’s a reminder that the only person we can truly depend upon will always be there to see you through no matter the hardship caused by Death and that person is God.

You are alive and so am I,
I love you but God loves you more and He’s praying for you.
Stay well.

  1. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 1 Corinthians 15:54

Nice one, Vanessa. To the extent we can, we should support those who grieve.

  2. Nice piece. Death has no enemy neither does it have a friend.
