Oh! Northern light,
Thou who art beauty of the old night.
Where goes thee now,
Where has thou cast thy glow?
In nothingness of the sky
I have searched for thee.
To behold thy countenance,
And thy ever expanding beauty.

Must I be blind to see?
For sees I not what blindness is.

Again, again,
Becomes dark, are the days,
And dreamless, the nights.
From me the sun takes heels,
On me the moon castes it gloom.

Must all within die that I might give life,
Then how Mays I live. This ordeal.

Upon the flights of air.
I have sent thee whispers.
Where goes thee northern lights,
Where has thou cast thy glow?
