Falling In Love

Falling In Love

Ovie has fallen in love
Like most men would
Only that this time around,
He fell deeper than he should.
Showering me with names,
I won’t even call my dog.
Like you are the only cockroach in my cupboard.
It bewilders me, what men could do for love.
Maybe he injured his head in the fall,
Or the love bug has affected his speech,
Because after his long memorized rhymes,
He remains speechless, intercepting with hmmm’s and haaa’s
As if to sing the popular old roger
unfortunately for him as the poem reads
My love for him is long dead,
And gone to the grave.
Now trying to plant a mango tree,
Under which we can share our lullabies,
Is nothing but an herculean task.
As it’s often said what can love not win
Eventually i fell for his antics
Not even the difficult ones.
Only the fact that his incessant comings,
Have made my heart grow fonder for him.
