The Struggle To Be Somebody

The Struggle To Be Somebody

Out of a thousand sheep

I may not be among the white ones

I am certainly not a black sheep

call me off-white

I would prefer.

Of all evils committed

Mine is their favorite

It’s not a bad evil

It’s neither a good evil

It’s a harmless evil.

Mum shouts

Dad shouts

I shout too

Yet I am wrong

Didn’t I follow my leaders?

But they tag me “rude child”

Oh my.. oh my… I am just me.

  1. i see where u are up to. but repetition of words at times could make a poem boring.the repetition of “evil” to get the rhythms was much.some other words could substitute.really nice view though.

  2. please remain you..

      Thanks for that @obiink

  3. It’s more like,

    Born in the ghetto
    Seeing bandits and more
Growing up doing what I see
    and speaking what I hear
    …………………………………………………

      i dont get you @innoalifa

      1. @Jessy_deremi, what I’m simply saying is that our environment influences our behaviour like “seeing bandits and more
Growing up doing what I see
        and speaking what I hear…”

Hope we are on the same page now?
