Bubbles across the screen
As I lay back to watch the bubbles across the screen,
I let thoughts of you drown my mind.
You, like the bubbles, have floated away,
Gone, for love of country, to protect.
As I watch them change colours,
I imagine your camouflage shield you,
From the explosions from the enemy rifles;
And make you invisible to their guns.
As they are cornered,
I see you round up the enemy,
They, lifting hands in surrender
And you, kicking away the weapons.
So you could hurry, and return to me,
To lay with me, and watch the bubbles across the screen.
