Mid-night Hour

In the still of the night
…As the morning awakens
Roused as from a sleep
My soul listens
I’d long for the morn
When I’ll hear songs
Than this quietness around me
When my heart is apart me.
When sleep evades
And I afraid.

Morning comes with joy and noises
Filled with “we are all here” Voices
You should be here and not there!
What’s wrong with you today?

But this time
I choose the night
‘Cos You have the right
To chime in my chart!

Morning keeps me busy
And not listening
‘Cos other functions
Take my attention.

But in the still of the night
When my soul in quiet before You
I listen and hear right
To get a word from You.

I’m sure You spoke in the morning
But I had to do my entire running
And so didn’t hear
When You said “I CARE!”

The day was good
But could have been better
If I had l looked to You
To make it matter.

It’s past one
And I hear just one
Let’s begin the day together
‘Cos you bring loosed ends to gather!

I’m all Yours now
Lay the plots, I’ll follow
So as the day unfolds
I’ll know what it holds.

Heart

With You, I’ll make it through
Through there are other voices too,
I heard Yours’ before theirs
For while they slept
You did your part
You spoke to my heart
In my mid-night hour!

    1. Very true @ufuomaotebele, very true…the night has its charm and its calmness sets the mood right for inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and your comments.

    1. Thank you @vincentdepaul. Appreciated.

  4. Beautifully ambiguous…

    Interprets into multiple meanings.

My meaning would be the embrace of the night by the speaker for its uniqueness in making spiritual meditations possible…an opening for uninterrupted communication with the divine.

    Simple and well colored

    1. You got it!
That’s the interpretation. Thank you @Afronuts for seeing through other eyes and for the lovely comments too.
