The only egg hatched by motherbird
Gets treated under her wings
Each grain is broken by her strong beak
Each pain they go through strong willed

On a half moon night
Came the hawk
She flaps her wings
As if they could take her beyond the skies
Up it goes and down she comes
Like a cornered boxer
Boxed left and right
By the fist of life

Her other egg
Rolled down the tree branch
It broke out the yolk
She lost it all

She cried for days
And years passed her by
Her tears
An oasis in the desert
Where she lived

  1. Tragic indeed… Stumbled on this one and love it; I probably should stumble more often.
