Nicole Bassey

Nicole Bassey

She came in a duffel coat
To the mill of words
Bearing a beautiful heart
On a beautiful day, nay a
Beauty to behold.
The soul, a plethora of
Riches like that ancient Queen of Sheba
The riches, a pool of artistry
And aesthetic splendour, ganished
With the capacity to forge classics
Like a skilled wordsmith
From the fire of raw inspiration
Yet she alights gently on the minds
Of those who seek the hall of fame.
Like a Sunshine on harvest day,
When June is pregnant
And the year embraces it by its narrow waist,
Her smiles wakes up the man in all.
With her radiant eyes like the Eagle’s
From high mountains to pick the smallest of prey
Down deep valleys
Hers are on words skewed on pages
She came in a Duffel coat
To the mill of words

  1. Either you’re in love or you just decided to make @nicolebassey your muse.

You must definitely be a fan of hers with this ode that raps so much accolades about her. Was it her Ernestra Chronicles that rendered you lyrically loose or something else?

lol…what love jazz did sunshine use on you?

    1. sambright (@sambrightomo)

*laughing in my mother tongue* @Afronuts it is neither love nor lust.It is strictly an ode in celebration of her thorough poise to sight typos…
Plus that,it is an informal way to apologise after I lambasted her for my own errors.I pray she accepts this token as an offering.

      1. This is a beautiful bribe.
        I mean irresistable bribe.

        1. sambright (@sambrightomo)

I hope she go see am like that oo0. @Estee. Thanks for reading.

      2. Aah…now I get it! I knew you wouldn’t have written this just like that. What a smart way to soothe her back.
Well, I just commented on some dude’s story ‘Casting Shadows’ and he got pissed and lambasted me. But I aint writing no poem for him…that would be soo gay! lol

        1. sambright (@sambrightomo)

          1. Lol… Bromance, some comments on NS are more interesting than some posts @afronuts @sambrightomo

    1. sambright (@sambrightomo)

heehehehe, @jaywriter baba, it sure will. The ministry is moving to the permanent site.lol.But please note that the work is not with an ulterior motive oo.I simply wrote it to appease her kindred spirit for lambasting her. As @Olan has noted, it is an apology poem. Thank you sir for stopping by though.I treasure your comment sir.Blessings.

      1. @sambrightomo, beautiful, beautiful piece, does read like a love tribute actually. As an appeasement offering, it sure is irresistible. It’s just too beautiful to be only an appeasement offering, if I this were to be a part of a story, it’ll be the point where a handsome deal is struck… Good work Sire!
