  1. Our agreement was no rape, no shooting, but Slim wouldn’t keep to agreement.

He shot the gateman. I complained, his reply was, “Boy chill abeg!” We got the N1.5 million clean and easy.

“Make we move,” I told him.

“This guy wife too clean, chill abeg!” he replied.

Now I don’t know where these grim-face policemen came out from. We stopped. One stuck his face in the car, sniffed, “Big boys,” he shouted.

    Silence!

“Anything for the boys?” he asked solemnly.

Slim stuck fifty in his hand. They threw their hands in the air and hailed as we zoomed off.

    100 words!

  2. I let out a groan as I spotted Shola across the road. He was talking to two guys, a cigarette hanging from his lip.

I prayed inwardly that he wouldn’t see me, I had no cash to spare. I decided to go the opposite direction. But I was too late.

He turned suddenly and our gazes locked and his lit up in a smile. I plastered a smile to my face and walked towards him, mentally readying myself for the usual refrain.

“Gbola my man! ” he bellowed, gripping my hand in a firm handshake
” anything for the boys? ”

    100 words.

  3. Coming back from America, “Theland of opportunities” I met my wonderful family waiting patiently at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos for me. Their eager faces grinning on sighting me on the ramp.

After going through the normal formalities in the airport, I joined them. They were overjoyed. My father was already planning on organizing a welcome party to celebrate my success overseas.

On our way to the house, we were stopped by three policemen on Ojuelegba road. One of them, peeping into the car asked my father,

“Oga Sir, anything for the boys?” Eww! So Naija never change?

    100 words

  4. He sat in a heavy heap as his eyes feasted on photographs of his sex romp with the prostitutes. Perspiring, he knew this indiscretion could signal the end of his political career and indeed his very existence.

A note with the damning shots, informed him to expect a call. It came soon enough

    “Is that Chief Rokas?”

    “Speaking”

“I trust you have the package”

Chief Rokas’ heart skipped a bit. “So who are you and why are you doing this?”

The voice at the other end chuckled mischievously.

“Chief, the important question should be is there anything for the boys?”

    100 words

  5. My limbs were numb from being tied up all day. I wished I knew where they had taken me.

My captors made sure I would never be able to identify them by covering my eyes with a piece of black cloth when they grabbed me by the roadside where I had parked my car to buy agbalumo.

The door creaked open as someone stepped into the room.

“Oga mi! Anything for the boys? they hailed the newcomer.
‘Ogbeni wait for the ransom,’ I heard a voice that sounded like Pastor Nick’s voice say.

My mind is playing tricks on me.

    100 words

  6. I was deep in thought when the phone on my table rang.I glanced at the number,it was strange to me.

    “Hello” .I said

“Hello, this is Honorable Femi, a member of the House of Assembly.”

“What can i do for you, I replied”

“We can do a lot for each other.I hear that you have been charged with corruption but you can avoid going to jail if we get you a presidential pardon and get the case quieted”

“Really! What do i have to do?”

“Its quite simple. Is there ‘Anything for the boys?”‘

    98 words

  7. I wore my new dress, my vintage brown shoes and my brightest face and hastily alighted from the taxi. I was excited and with a smile, I hurried the last block to his house, my sweetheart awaited.

Then I saw them, as usual lounging in front of his house and knew they were discussing me, the rich girl who had a man in their slum.

As I drew closer, one whistled and another asked with a mischievous grin ‘fine girl, anything for the boys?’

Unusually however, I just smiled. Nothing could dampen my mood. Adebola Baker was in love!

  8. “Timi, what is the answer to my question?” miss Caroline asked.
    “Em, em…,? He stuttered.
“So you weren’t paying attention?” “what is the meaning of the word incompetence?” She said.
    Silence.
“Are you listening to me?” She asked.
Jerked from his musings, he stood facing his teacher scowling. Right now his worry was how he was going to avoid the all too familiar catch phrase “anything for the boys?”. Either he had something to give to go unscathed or he ended up with a swollen face. And today he had nothing for the Tri squad, the school bullies 98words.
