The Invincible: a Killer of Dreams.

The Invincible: a Killer of Dreams.

This is the story
of the downfall of a man full of glory
to succeed is his only mission
to make it in life, his ultimate ambition.

He never fails day and night
walking always on a path that’s right
towards a future- clear and bright
pursuing his goal with all his might.

Alas! one day he met his doom
around the corner a killer looms
a ferocious killer with an aim
to eliminate mankind, that is his game.

It pounces mercilessly on it’s prey
whose only resort is to pray
that a cure soon shall be found
before he ends up in the ground.

The killer attacks all in it’s way
turning many children to orphans all day
the invincible killer that has yet no cure
HIV/AIDs! that’s what it is called.

  1. Let the news get to all and sundry. It is the invincible killer.

weldone. You are a genious poet, adding to the fact that you have put something germane down.
    Keep doing this.
    And never stop doing this.

    1. Thanx…won’t stop.

  3. Nice message.

  4. nice, but I disagree that HIV/AIDS is “invincible”. it continues to ravage us cos of ignorance and poverty, and above all a distrust of all things orthodox by majority of our people; preferring the one herb cures all theory….

  5. @hafsah18, this felt like two poems in one – about a man who suffers a downfall, and about HIV/AIDS. it would have been better if you had kept the focus on just one of these topics.

Also, watch out for tense confusion. If you want to write this in the past tense only, you should have:

He never fails failed day and night
walking always on a path that’s that wasright
towards a future- clear and bright
pursuing his goal with all his might.

Alas! one day he met his doom
around the corner a killer looms loomed
a ferocious killer with an aim
to eliminate mankind, that is was his game.

    1. Thank you very much for the advice…will sure do my best to abide by the rules of tenses.
