Age is Numeric

Her friends had warned her severally about hanging out with the older men but she never listened.
She had nothing against boys her own age but her last relationship depicted to her that age was just a number. Segun was a few months younger than her but he acted very maturely. Although things didn’t work out between them she still had respect for his persona.
Femi was different.
Diary
Entry #42
FEMI
Femi is so sweet. He reminds me of all life could be. I know my sister or best friend would not approve of this relationship but I really cannot care less of their approval.
I don’t believe he is using me or that I am vulnerable.
We are not having sex, we are not even making out and it has been 6 months already.
What makes him different from Funmi or Tricia’s boyfriends? His age?
Please……
We like the same things. Eat the same peculiar foods and have the same strange opinions.
So what if he is 10 or 15 years older than me?
As we sang along sisi eko today over Skype all I could think of was ………
Wait I wasn’t thinking.
I can’t wait to meet with him tomorrow, it has been a whole week.
Mother nature’s gift is truly finding someone that thinks exactly the way you do.
And that is how I see it.
 SISI EKO
Verse 1:
Hold me now, rock with me girl
Say, do it again like the days when we were younger
Do you remember? Under the guava
We stay together like bread and butter
Hold me now (girl), rock with me (yeah)
Say, do it again like the days when we were tender.
Baby remember under the guava
We stay together like tea and sugar
You may be 19 now, you may be 30
I’ll turn 24 in this coming December
Baby remember, age na number
We stay together, today, forever
Chorus:
Sisi Eko, Sisi owo
Promise you’ll never leave me alone
I am for you as you are for me
Promise you’ll never leave me alone
Verse 2:
Summer hot i o, winter coooool ehh
But baby say you’ll always cool my temper
All round the weather, holding each other
(and) we stay together, forget wahala
Hold me now (girl), rock with me (yes)
Say, do it again like the days when we were younger
Baby remember under the guava
We stay together like tea and sugar
(Chorus)
aaaa
Pa ra ra ra ra, pa ra ra ra ra, Pa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra
Hold me now pa ra ra ra ra I know you love me
I know you need me pa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra…..
Verse 3:
Hold me now (girl),I know you love me, I know you need me
Hold me now, touch me now
Look into my eyes, tell me you love me
Just like yesterday, we stay today and forever
You may be 19 now, you may be 40
I’ll turn 24 in this coming December
Baby remember, age na number
We stay together, today, forever
(Chorus twice)
We smile today, as we go smile tomorrow
Promise you’ll never leave me alone
I dance for you, as you go dance for me
Promise you’ll never leave me alone
I scratch your back, as you scratch my back
Promise you’ll never leave me alone
(yeah that’s for you baby)

    1. lool I’m not even sure it made sense random writing…

      1. You can do better than this, @didi. Come on – more than half of this was simply a copy-and-paste of someone else’s lyrics.

  1. Nah…didnt feel this at all…

  2. I see what you were trying to do, but the structuring doesn’t really flow, also there needs to be more of a story behind the song.

If there was and this broke up the story then it will have more of a punch. Also it’s always best to stick to one narrative story theme, either use the diary enter as the theme or use the song.

But like I said I do like it a bit, but just think it needs a bit more punch

  3. i’m sorta lost ? is that it ?
    no background story ?
    no structure ?

  4. mmmmmm… no comment.
