Introducing the New Naijastories Team

Introducing the New Naijastories Team

A couple of months ago, we called for applications to paid positions with NS Publishing Ltd. We thank all those who applied and hope they remain full and active members. We got loads of interest for the positions, and after 2 months and lots of email exchanges, we have settled on the following new members in addition to the core team.

JayWriter – Assitant Community Manager

I’m Jaywriter, a graduate of Theatre Arts and I live in Nigeria. I love writing, reading, travelling, movies, filmmaking, indoor games and recently interviewing people. I am addicted to my muses and Naija Stories. I was first attracted to Naija Stories in 2010 because of my love for well-told and unique stories. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the site, both as a member and as a volunteer.  I hope to improve on what I have done so far.

Salliness – Editorial Assistant

“Hi, I’m Sally and I love to read; books, magazines and everything in-between. I’m fascinated by art, creativity and life in general. I live in Lagos and I am interested in working with because it is internet based forum that promotes creativity and art. I am impressed by the workings on the site especially by the fact that unregistered members of the site can also get to read posts on it. I’m always excited to discover new things and very willing to share all that I learn. I’m definitely going to be sharing all a lot here so stop by whenever you can.”

Myne Whitman – Editor/Community Manager

Myne Whitman is my pen name. I was born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria. I have a Master’s degree in Public Health Research but have chosen my childhood dream of spinning stories. I live with my husband in Seattle, USA. I write and blog full-time, and also volunteer where I can. I am passionate about using the internet and social media to promote the book industry and improve the reading culture in Nigeria. is my brainchild and now under a registered startup company.

Tola Odejayi – Technical Admin

I’ve always been interested in reading from a very early age, although the desire to write stories came much later in life (courtesy of a BBC short story competition). I’m excited to be involved in the growth of Naija Stories, as I believe that by getting people interested in reading means getting them interested in finding out more about their world, and this makes them happier and more productive. I live in the US, where I work in the IT industry and indulge my interests in cycling and making music.

Some of our volunteers are still active and you can view their bio on the Board leaders page.

We also understand that every member of this site is a volunteer and we will continue to reward those who show consistent and helpful interest to the readers and writers on this site using the reward system. Our regular writing contests will also continue, as well as new ones in the pipeline.

Thanks for all your support.
