Words in a basket

Words in a basket

Sometimes I gather words in a basket
Sometimes I hold words frozen in space
Sometimes I loathe sleep and snooze
Sometimes I make thoughts high as tides

I gather words in a basket
Or make it fly like a racket
I keep words ambiguous in a jacket
Or keep it forever bound in a locket

I hold words frozen in space
I think deep and don’t forget in trace
I savor its vapour like ice
I see it even in your eyes

I loathe sleep and snooze
It cuts destinies deep as bruise
It makes time vague and loose
It gives men scent or ooze

I make thoughts high as tide
Its build up castles and glide
It gives life shape and side
It bides me glow and ride

  1. The poem looks nice and rhymes ok.
    But that is all.

  2. All the words of this poetical piece are somewhere in a leaky basket. I don’t know what they mean and they are fast slipping out.

  3. This poem is trying too hard to rhyme. It affects the imagery and the rhythm.
