On this Plateau.

On this plateau
Where we don’t measure words
Or weigh thoughts.
Where our eyes see beyond
Customs, traditions and diaTRIBES.

On this plateau
We bask in interminable space;
The galaxy is our territory
On this plateau.

Our trajectory eased by this
Frigate called friendship
The only ship with two captains.
I , You, both of us.
Destined beyond man’s imagination
Endorsed by God’s warm embrace
On this plateau.

We jolly in floods, rain and sun
Harmattan, cold nights and all.
On this plateau.

We are stronger in each other’s presence
Leaving us gasping for more of
Many seasons.
On this plateau.

We started as Óre
You became Nkem
Now you are my Ayá
On this plateau.
How I love this plateau!

    Hehehe…I don enter wahala.

Now that I read it again, I strongly see it as a poem about strife-torn Plateau State. Seriously. Don’t you think it can pass for that Sam bright?
