Stay, Muse, Stay

Stay, muse, stay

I’m a different man when you’re here;

And nothing’s out of reach.

Stay, muse, stay

You’re oft gone too soon,

And back to wretched earth one falls,

As if you never were.

Stay, muse, stay

This is the promise I here make;

A good host I shall be.

Stay, muse, stay

And breath your magic upon these tools.

And of the wonders that should follow,

Faithfully I shall render.

Stay, muse, stay

Don’t go dead on me just yet;

Not before creation’s dough is caked.

Stay, muse, stay

Let’s wrap this up in sweet patnership;

This masterpiece we’re here making,

So cackling with beauty.

Stay, muse, stay

Misery straddles your vacation;

And I’m taken for a fraud.

Stay, muse, stay

Name a price and I shall pay;

For oft I’ve prayed when you’re gone,

That you come and go no more.

  1. Oh please tell that bugger to stop this flip flop.

    “Misery straddles your vacation
    And I’m taken for a fraud”
    This line I particularly like.

    Nice @obiaguomba

  2. I liked this a lot. Cosider friendship instead of partnership in stanza 3

  3. No amount is enough to hold your muse.When it travels,it travels, when it is back, IT IS BACK! However, we must make the most of it when it comes.It is like the husband who always travels,when he is home, the wife will make the most of the moment. *If you know what I mean* Winks*.
    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Nice one man, very nice.

    BTW, What is all these muse thing seff? The only thing that influences my writing is time. If i have time i write. Or is time a muse?

  5. Well, treat your muse right. She’s a very jealous lover. The more you write, the more she reveals, eternally holding your attention and teasing you. If you ignore her for an hour, she grows wings and flies away…
