I Don’t Sleep, I Dream

We look back now

On those years past

And realize

The truth that was them

And the lie that was us

They were as real

A mirage then

As they are now

But we thought them an oasis

Over the years

The lies of their truth

Never wavered

But through the years

The truth of our lies

Have wavered

They see us now

The way we never were

But we see them now

The way they have always been

They were the truth

And we were the lie.

(Inspired by the song “I don’t sleep, I dream” by REM)

  1. Yes O! They lied to us O!

  2. Thought provoking.

  3. The years have stayed to to their course. Same days, same months. We however keep believing that next YEAR… our mirage

    The lies of their truth

    Never wavered

    But through the years

    The truth of our lies

    Have wavered

    Thought provoking and insightful…
