Robin van Devil

There was a Robin in my hood
With nimble feet – oh! – he was good.

And Robin nursed a broken wing
But still to him did Arsene cling -
For 7 eons without relent -
Until the Robin’s wings had strength!

1 season Robin made us fly-
The Tots and Blues we did fly by.
So Song, our Ox and all the boys
Did bask is Gooners’ pleasant noise!

The Robin’s head became too big;
He said, “Arsene, you aint my league”!
And Robin ate the Devil’s pie -
Red recipe that’ll make him die!

So when you see the Robin pause
And pray he gets hit by a bus!!!

I am a gunner till I die!!!

  1. Hehehehe….I know of someone who would scream those last words with you… Would you mind if I shared it?…I hope not. Nice one xikay, as always….Well done…$ß.

  2. @bubbllinna, feel free to share this to anyone… Just remember to give credit to moi *wink*.
Its for all soccer fans to enjoy.

  3. Loooooool ehn-ehn? Okay now, Let the Football poems begin! Good Work.
The first two lines were splendid.
    Well done.

  4. @bubbllinna… For real? I’m glad you liked em… So are you into football too?

  5. Robin, a very smart man I know. The dust in A’s trophy room can be choking for the fans let alone the players. For Arsenal, it’s all business. No time for the players’ future. Xikay, Chelsea forms still dey! Lol!

  6. I wasn’t expecting this. Good in all.
I don’t believe he is a devil. He is getting old and he need trophy. Arsenal won’t give him one, and Arsene wenger care all about money. I just pity them, because they just made man utd the team to beat “Rooney-Van Persie”….

    Mau utd for life…… Hehe

  7. @kodeya, I dont expect a United fan to think otherwise, after all na una give am the tempting pie.. God go judge una for us sha!
    Thanks for reading.

  8. Lwkm. Your loss; our gain.

    Loved this:
There was a Robin in my hood
With nimble feet – oh! – he was good.

    And this:
So when you see the Robin pause
And pray he gets hit by a bus!!!

    Really good piece.

  9. I can’t keep my butt glued thrughout that 90 mins just to see them running around the field, and then hear the males in my house bellowing and ranting when a move goes wrong…. It’s too much for my ‘delicate’ self…hehehe.. Been an arsenal fan for sometime now though…hehehe..But i no go talk say dia plaque go dey my coffin, dem dey pay me?..tscheew! Hahaha..

  10. Hahahaha. Sweet composture @xikay

  11. The guy has tried for the club. No trophy and small salary. If it were a regular job and he was ur friend and came to you for advice will you ask him to stay on?After seven years? Let”s be fair here. I am gunner too and he will be missed but I wish him well.
    Great poem by the way!!!!

    • @amy78 i disagree about him trying for the club. He spent 7years off and on the treatment table and only one year fit and you call that try.

If he were still injured or Arsenal had discarded him during that period, would any club look at him?
his case is just like a woman who is sick with a skin disease, a man marries her and takes care of her only for he to leave as soon as she gets better.

  12. Dear Jesu Christi. Let football not come into this place again.
    Amen!

  13. @xikay: Of course, RvP’s a devil. Or are Man Utd not the red devils again?

  14. Your profile should have read in addition: football poet. Are you not one?
