River of Time

What is more amazing than your unchanging movement pace?

That has been the same from time immemorialleaving no trace

Tic tac you move towards an unknown place

Who dares to compete with you in a race?

Who wonders about the language you speak as youmove?

Or has the slightest glimpse of plans you weave?

You drift away leaving no foot prints for us to prove

So, how then can we now take a heave?

River of time, are you a friend or a foe?

For moments with you comes with pleasure as well as woe

You never look back, all you do is go

Irrespective of the condition, you are always on your toes

River of time, will you be my friend?

And whisper to me when am close to my end?

Revealing to me every malicious fiend?

That lurks at every hidden bend?

Through you I seek the gracious Lord’s face

For indeed you are a friend that maintains her pace

Hold my hand as I compete in this worldly race

And when am gone, make heaven my resting place.

  2. Hehe, well written, but i doubt that Time has power to allot eternal accomodation, Choice, Decision and God are those in charge of that department. Thanks for sharing

  3. @ JamesMelbin and KC, thanks, I feel you guys, @ Sunshine, I appreciate your comment, truly, God alone has the power to do and undo, that was why I stated in the first line of the last stanza that “Through you I seek the gracious Lord’s face”.
