Out Of The Shadows

Shall you let the brush
Of another man’s stained lens
Paint the portrait of your life?

Say, if you were the moon,
Would you hide your light
In awe of the Sun’s glare?

The chameleon ought then to hide
In the shadows of shame
When the gazelle sprints by.

Tell me, shall the snail hide
And deny his pliable horns
Because of the grazing stag?

I tell you, the round apple
That craves the banana’s curve
Risks his place on the branch.

The chicken that will dare the eagle
Must first let his wings
Test the strenght of the air.

  1. Shall you let another blow your trumpet?
Shall he blow it with the tune? The first stanza is my favourite. Other comments AOR.

  2. Thoughtful as usual
Its a debt we owe to express our individuality without shame or pride
Whoever we are, we are unique in our own way

But for the snail’s tentacle, how’d it feel the world in its shell?
And the round apple doth have its place among the fruits of that juicy blend.

    Lovely writ!
