We burst free like a happy stream
In a twinkle of colours
With fruity bubbles
The land glow anew
With green peas and white egrets
Springs of cascading hopes
course through the ‘Y’ of the land
A cloud of twitter envelope us
Heralding the seeds of hope
That the rains bear with grandeur
The sky smile in a rainbow of merriment
While we till the soil and marvel again
At the fruitage of our own sweat
All lush and green and fragrant
How despair enervate us again
We burrow too far- southwards
To the dark loams of promise, nay, of yields!
And the wonders of earth blossom once more
This time, with poisoned black pods
Pods we chew and smack our lips- so sweet?
That sweetness still our hopes at birth
And fritter our promise away
Away with the remnant of hope
Bearing our fractured hopelessness
Nesting a new hunger in our belly
Beyond the splendour of the springs;
the brilliance of the rainbow
and the glamour of the clouds

Nice…
I so like.
I particularly like the first line
“How despair enervate(s) us again” – i fink
Well done!
