It was in the midst of a deep
Like a young plant on an arid ground so strange
Trusting solely on its feeble roots,
Tapping for the food in the earth
And with the sunrise of a day so virgin,
With leaves as of ears of a babe so transparent
I soared so high to the heights,
In an effervescent fantasy
For my pristine thoughts,
Life was good this way and precious hopes of an enduring future was mine.
But soon, indeed very soon, the fiery sun had gone its way
And now darkness covered the still
Oh then, I began to feel a need for another
A folk to respond to my thoughts;
One alike, same leaves, same roots, reaching out,
So that I may feel, real love and true hopes
And just then, out of a sudden
From the still of the night so dark and wane
A willing voice was heard; ‘I am here’
And when I turned to look, it was you my Omaye mi

Language seemed abstract and difficult in many places: with leaves as of ears of a babe
a folk to respond to my thought,
In all, i liked the subject matter and the angle but i think the language and flow can be made better. My 2kobo

i love the use of imagery from nature, it helped give the poem a certain…tranquility. the allusion to a baby also works with the concept of a young, vulnerable seedling. excellent message. cool phrases. rhyming could be better.
