Sword of Damocles

Calling Dana Flight 9J-992 to Lagos
Calling Dana Flight 9J-992 to Lagos
This is the last call for flight 9J-992 to Lagos
A call for a righteous few that will stand as sacrifice
Their sacrifice: the price for our better quality of life
That the broken wheel; fixed can now freely spin
Insecurity will now know police security
Fire damage will cower in fear of Fire Rescuers
Medical emergencies will take flight at the sound of ambulance services
This is a God given right of every citizen

The precious loss of life: the price tag for the progress of mankind
The Being came and paved the way
True sacrifice; the only way comes to stay
Though we mourn the loss of our loved ones, family and friends
In this loss we celebrate our gain
Are there not two sides to every coin?
Is life and death not both sides of the same coin?
A mirror, an echo of continuity masked in the dance of eternity

Though we ‘mourn’ the Cross of Calvary
Is there any that would like to continue in slavery?
Reject this generous sacrifice for you and me?
Yea, there will be sacrifice;
But some will surely pay the price for this sacrifice!

Judas!
A name shared by government and public servants
Craftiness: his slice like theirs in this pie of betrayal
Their reward is woe; weaved and woven in the blood our innocent

So it is and shall be for all those past and present in government
Every public official that fed and fattened of the misery of our problems
Dana flight 9J-992 is their sword of Damocles
For them there is no miracle
The tentacles of Karma bring their ridicule

  1. Nice one… I wish d sword would fall and chop off their heads jare…
I like the allusion to Christ’s redemption of us…So they be little Christ’s yeah?.. If only Govt would take their sacrifice 4 wat it really is….A wake-up call.

    Well done Mercy…$ß.

  5. I like this. Really like this. And I admire the courage it took to pen this on paper.

  6. These indeed are graceless times. Times when greed and capitalism continues to screw us blind and like Oliver twist, we line up and want some more. Our government is the cause of our sorrow, Dana played their role as every corrupt agency in our country.

I say call them on it, both the one’s who sell these death traps and the one’s who buy them. Governments of the world owe the inhabitants of this world this much…that we live in a place where man is his brothers keeper.

It should not be Nigeria’s problem alone…The so-called world leaders will not permit this is their countries, why allow any corporation dispose thrash to another people?

It’s all politics and economics yes, but the hypocrisy has to stop now! America should not be big brother only when its beneficial to her people…whatever happened to that aged pride of people and land? of rights to happiness and life?

As we mourn, let us remember that we must use the only weapon we have have to fight for our rights, write it, blog it, twit it and by all means shout it out…Enough!

I read something about doing nothing somewhere…It ‘s so sad when it’s our neighbor, but when it’s us;it becomes a tragedy. We will rise above procrastinations and idle talk, and actually take active roles in electing our officials. The system is corrupt alright but so were all the worlds top dogs today until order came. Vive Nigeria!
